About Us

David didn’t start his career behind a desk or with a spreadsheet— he started by running his own small business.

For more than a decade, David owned and operated DK Farrier Service, working hands-on with high performance show horses across the Southeast. He built that business from the ground up, relying on reputation, referrals, and relationships rather than advertising.

David managed everything himself: pricing, invoicing, collections, cash flow, expenses, and year-end financials.

He learned quickly that passion alone doesn’t keep a business alive— clarity around money does. That experience shaped how he thinks about business to this day. Running a service-based business taught David what it feels like to worry about cash flow, to make payroll, to price your work fairly, and to make decisions with incomplete information. It also taught him the power of discipline, consistency, and trust—values he still brings into every professional relationship. After selling that business, David transitioned into accounting and financial management, bringing with him a practical, owner-first mindset. Since then, David has spent years working inside growing companies in construction, real estate development, recycling, and renewable energy—

industries where complexity is high and margins matter.

With a B.S. in Business and Accounting paired with experience as an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, and Corporate Controller, David has successfully overseen financial operations & reporting for single and multi-entity businesses ranging in size from $5 million to $85 million in assets.

He's managed audits, implemented and optimized accounting systems, built reporting processes, guided teams through complex GAAP issues, and partnered closely with CFOs and leadership teams on cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making. But no matter how large the organization, his focus has always stayed the same: helping leaders actually understand what their numbers are telling them.

David specializes in turning financial data into insight—bridging the gap between accounting

and operations so owners and executives can make confident decisions.

Whether it’s untangling intercompany transactions, improving monthly close processes, or explaining budget variances. David believes finance should be a tool—not a mystery. He's especially drawn to organizations that care about culture, sustainability, and long-term impact. His work in renewable energy and construction development reflects that commitment, as does his collaborative leadership style.

David value strong processes, clear communication,

and environments where people are empowered to improve how things work.

Outside of work, David is deeply connected to hands-on craftsmanship and the outdoors. He enjoys woodworking, scuba diving, kayaking, hiking, and spending time around horses—interests that keep him grounded and reinforce his appreciation for patience, precision, and continuous learning. He also enjoys coaching and mentoring, particularly when it comes to helping others grow into leadership roles. At his core, David is someone who understands business from both sides of the ledger. He's been the owner worrying about cash and growth, and he's been the controller ensuring financial integrity. That combination allows David to connect with small business owners in a way that’s practical, honest, and grounded in real experience.

David believes that good financial management isn’t about complexity—it’s about clarity.

And clarity is what allows businesses, and the people behind them, to grow with confidence
